Mai Pokhari is a beautiful tourist spot as well as pilgrim spot of Ilam district. It takes about 2 hours by taxi or bus from Ilam bazzar. It is a small spot with watershed, full of biodiversity. Most of the preserved area is covered with lake. Pine forest is major flora and endangered species of salamander is major funna of this place.It contains beautiful botanical garden including Orchid house and other plants. There are plenty of gardens and resting spot for visitors. People come here for visit, for picnic and to pray.
